Day 39: Amsterdam, Netherlands

I got up at around 2pm since I had been up until 7am in the morning working. Another craving I’d been having was ramen, so I found a place near the Van Gogh Museum which I had a ticket for in the afternoon.

I got the veggie ramen which was good, but still not comparable to my Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen from JINYA which I really missed. After eating, I headed over to the museum.

The Van Gogh Museum was small, but it had a great collection of his work. On the first level, there was a piano for visitors to play which was cool and occasionally would provide beautiful background music.

I discovered that I was visiting on the last day of a special exhibition about his work The Potato Eaters. The exhibit explored the piece and the critique that he’d received. Was it a mistake or not? There was an upstairs section where you could put yourself into the painting and a screen to modernize the painting with hats and phones.

After staying until the museum closed, I decided to take public transportation back to the hostel since it was cold out and I was tired. I took a nap before grabbing dinner and starting work for the evening.
