Day 41: Amsterdam to Paris
My train to Paris was at 11:15am so I checked out of the hostel and headed to train station at 10:30am. Before boarding, I grabbed a drink and some fruit. Luckily, train ride wasn’t going to be too long.
I arrived in Paris a little before 3pm and went straight to my Airbnb. There were no elevators in the train stations, at least none that I could find, so I reluctantly lugged my suitcase up multiple flights of stairs and then even more stairs when I got to the apartment I was staying at.
I hit a bit of a snag since the cleaner had been told that no one was checking in, but I was hungry so I said it was fine and went to grab some food.
I was staying in the 10th arrondissement which wasn’t as touristy so a lot of the menus were only available in French. A decent amount of places were closed at the time as well, since it was the time period in between lunch and dinner.
After walking back and forth for a while, I finally settled on a restaurant and was able to find something good to eat before getting some groceries and going back to the apartment. I had taken a bit to choose where I was going to stay in Paris and I was very happy with my decision. The apartment was the perfect size and located near multiple metro stops which was going to make getting around the city easy.
I took a long nap after I got back to the apartment, waking up right before I needed to leave for the game. It was a 25 minute train ride so I quickly headed over to the stadium. There were tons of people, but the lines went by pretty quickly and I was in.
The game was awesome. The fan supporter section was unlike anything I’d seen before in person, lighting their fireworks before the start of the match and turning the section into a sea of red lights. Every seat had either a red or blue PSG flag, so I joined the crowd and waved mine around.
It was a close game, with PSG winning at the very end. I was glad that I’d made the decision to attend the game. I hurried back to the apartment afterwards and then got ready to work for the evening.
