Day 59: Florence, Italy
I planned to walk over to Piazzale Michelangelo when I woke up, which had a great view of Florence and the countryside in the distance. Along the way, I walked over the Ponte alle Grazie bridge.
Surprise surprise, I was greeted by more stairs. And a cat. I climbed to the top and spent around 40 minutes with the view. Afterwards, I headed back down and explored the city a bit more.
Known for his street sign artwork, Clet Abraham had a studio that I decided to visit on my way back over to the city center. I bought a few stickers with some of his work and headed over to the Uffizi Gallery.
The line was fairly long to get in but it went by quickly. I walked through the entire museum, viewing Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” painting and various other works.
Afterwards, I stopped by a cafe for an açaí bowl before heading back to the apartment. I had done more things than I originally planned and was getting tired.
