Day 60: Florence, Italy
It was my last full day in Florence. There was a restaurant that I’d been wanting to try since I arrived and it closed at 3pm, so I made sure to wake up in time to walk over and grab something to eat.
The restaurant was called Flower Burger and they specialized in vegan food, specifically various types of burgers that came in a multitude of colors. I decided to get the signature Flower Burger which was a purple burger with a seitan and red lentil patty.
After eating, I headed back to the apartment and stopped for a quartet that was playing on the street. They’d drawn a pretty large crowd and the music was great. I stayed for a bit before continuing on my way and saw the largest dog that everyone took turns petting.
The host of the Airbnb had mentioned a place near the apartment that happened to be the oldest gelato shop in the city. Before going upstairs, I decided to stop by. The gelato was great and fairly priced.
I took a nap when I got back and then started work for the evening. My last travel morning before heading back to the States was the following day and I was only going to get a couple hours of sleep before catching my train.
