Day 55: Milan, Italy
I had a tour booked for The Last Supper at 2:15pm. I had wanted to go on my own time and rarely booked tours, but since all the time slots were booked up, this was my only way in.
Before showing up at the meeting spot, I went to a pizza spot for a quick bite to eat. From there, it was about a 10 minute walk to Santa Maria delle Grazie.
The tour lasted for about an hour and we were given 15 minutes inside with the painting. It was cool to see one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous works in person and it’s a lot bigger than I had imagined.
Once the tour was over, I took the tram over to Piazza Gae Aulenti where there were a bunch of shops and a huge plaza in the center. After walking around for a bit, I decided to head back to the hostel and hopped on the bus.
At the hostel, I went up to the rooftop and watched the sunset over Milan. Then I went to take a nap before work. I had another travel day ahead of me in the morning.
