Day 46: Paris, France

I woke up early, wanting to solve my train issue. I decided that I would just purchase a train ticket directly from the website so I could feel better about my travel day.

There were very few options but I settled on an early train and decided I could just sleep during the ride. With my train situation settled, I went back to sleep for a bit and woke up to deal with the laundry situation.

After running my clothes through a drying cycle, they were still stuck behind the metal. I contacted the Airbnb host at around 2pm, hoping for a solution before heading out for the day.

I walked through Champs-Elysees and got a Nutella crepe from a small stand near the Seine. I had booked a ticket for the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower in the evening. In 2020, I went to the top floor during the daytime so I wanted to see the view at night.

I got dinner at a restaurant with a view of the Eiffel Tower before heading over. For some reason, I had decided to take the stairs and it was so windy I thought I was going to get knocked over at times. The view was worth it.

After taking the elevator back down to the bottom, I walked through the area below before heading back to the Airbnb. There was no one available to help me with the washing machine until the next morning after my train was going to be gone.

I didn’t want to leave my clothes since I had washed a large majority of my wardrobe, but the trains were all sold out. The people hosting the Airbnb were not very helpful and wouldn’t find a way to compromise or help me in the slightest.

I had to spend five hours refreshing multiple websites to find a later train to Monte Carlo that wasn’t outrageously priced and didn’t get me there at a ridiculous hour. I finally found a schedule that worked and booked it right away.

There was such an unnecessary amount of stress at the end of my stay in Paris but it was still one of my favorite stops on the trip.
