Day 25: Vienna, Austria
Another day, another morning waking up early. I got up at around 11am and headed to grab food. A few blocks from the hostel there’s a plant-based restaurant called Tolstoy so I decided to check it out.
I walked over to MuseumsQuartier, an area with many museums and a place for people to walk around and hang out. I had bought an all-inclusive ticket for the museums within the square.
I started with the Leopold Museum which featured works by Klimt and Kokoschka, plus a large Schiele collection.
Then I headed to mumok, the modern art museum with pop art and photorealism exhibits. I’ve always had mixed feelings about modern art but I enjoyed walking around and looking at everything.
Next up was a contemporary art museum with exhibitions by international artists. It was fairly small so I got through everything quickly.
Last up was the architecture museum but when I walked over, I found out that it was closed. After three museums, that was totally okay with me. I was exhausted.
I headed back to the hostel and made a stop at Tolstoy to grab an eggplant pizza for dinner. It had been a long afternoon but I was wired so I wasn’t able to fall asleep or take a nap. I rested my eyes for a bit and then it was time to start work. It was an extremely successful day.
