I decided to take a day trip to Lake Como, which was about a 40 minute train ride from Milan. I grabbed a quick bite to eat near the Milano Centrale station before running to catch my train because the restaurant was extremely busy and it took a while to pay for my food.
After arriving at the Como station, I walked over to the lake. It was a bright and sunny day so the weather was perfect. I stopped at a gelato place right by the pier that was very reasonably priced.
I walked over to the edge of the water with my gelato and waited a bit before finally finding someone to ask to take my photo. I ended up asking three separate people over the course of the day, but liked the first ones the best.
After taking some photos, I went to the edge of the pier and over the water. Then I headed back from the lake and walked around the city of Como a bit before catching the train back to Milan.
I took a quick nap before heading downstairs to work. There were multiple common areas around the hostel and the Wi-Fi was quick, a stark contrast to my experience at the hostel in Amsterdam.
