The train from Milan to Florence was at 1pm and it was around a two-hour trip.
For some reason, the Eurail website wasn’t working for me to book a seat reservation so I ended up heading to the ticket counter. The line was extremely long so I had to take the train an hour later. I decided to get a green smoothie and an avocado wrap at Milano Centrale while I waited.
I arrived in Florence at around 3:30pm and discovered that there weren’t any public transportation options to the Airbnb. It was about a mile walk and because I had the duffel bag, all of my stuff was nicely compacted. However, the streets weren’t smooth so it made rolling my luggage a struggle and I had to take multiple breaks on the way over.
The Airbnb was on the top floor and there wasn’t an elevator, so I reluctantly carried all of my stuff up four flights of stairs. The apartment was beautiful and nicely decorated though, so it was worth it.
I watched an episode of TV before walking over to the grocery store to stock up for my stay in Florence. Afterwards, I took a long nap and got ready to work for the night.
