Another year gone by, another trip to Spring Training. Last weekend, my roommate Adrienne and I took the Greyhound Bus to Arizona for some baseball. The night we left, we went to the World Baseball Classic final at Dodger Stadium and watched Team USA win it all. That was such a great game, however USA ended up winning 8-0 so there was barely any drama or excitement towards the end. We then rushed back to our apartment, made food, and headed to the Greyhound Station in Los Angeles. Our bus left at 11:50 PM and we arrived in Phoenix at around 7:30 AM.
On Thursday night, we watched the Giants play the Mariners at Scottsdale Stadium. On Friday afternoon, we watched the Giants play the Rockies at Salt River Fields. Then on Saturday afternoon, we returned to Salt River Fields to watch the Rockies play the Cubs. Since I'm a Giants fan and she's a Rockies fan, we were able to divide the games perfectly. This was the same weekend we went to Spring Training last year as well.
We ended up purchasing the cheapest seats available from StubHub and sat in the empty seats that were close to home plate. Since it's Spring Training, the staff isn't too strict about checking tickets, so we ended up having a great view at all three games for a very inexpensive price. 10/10 would definitely recommend trying our strategy.
If you ever get the chance to go to Spring Training, take advantage of that opportunity. Adrienne and I have also decided that we're going to make Spring Training an annual trip, so catch us in Arizona in 2018. I can just imagine us in 20 years bringing our families to the games and having our children running around. How cute will that be?
I brought my camera to the first two games so check out the following pictures:
