I’m not sure what it is about Austria, but I woke up early again at around noon. I tried to fall back asleep, but ended up laying in bed for a bit before heading out. I didn’t have any big plans and it was going to be a rainy day, so I decided to grab lunch at a popular place called Palmenhaus.
The restaurant is located in a glasshouse full of plants and high ceilings with lots of light. Despite the grey skies, it was still beautiful inside. I ended up ordering an apple spritz, creamy cauliflower soup and some vegetable dish with these fried rice dumpling things.
After I finished eating, I was getting ready to leave and noticed that it was pouring. I decided to wait out the rain a few minutes before ultimately making the executive decision to just walk back to the hostel. Luckily, the rain ended up ceasing and turned into a light sprinkle.
I stopped at the grocery store on my way back and picked up a few snacks. Every city where I’ve gone grocery shopping has turned into me wandering around the aisles for long periods of time trying to choose what to buy. I settled on a random assortment of snacks, candy and fruit.
I went back to the hostel afterwards and took a nap before signing on for the evening. It was the perfect low key day.
