At 10am, maintenance came to fix the washing machine and I was able to get my clothes. They weren’t dry and I didn’t have enough time before I needed to leave, so I threw them in a bag and ordered an Uber to the train station. I’d have to travel with wet clothes.
I slept for the majority of the train ride, waking up in short intervals to see the beautiful landscape as we rode through France. I transferred to the second train without an issue and then once we arrived in Nice, I got onto my third train of the day for a short ride to Monte Carlo.
I had tried to avoid arriving in Monte Carlo when it was dark out because it’s always easier to navigate new places in the daylight and the bus didn’t run at night, but it was unavoidable if I wanted to wait for my clothes.
The train station in Monte Carlo was fairly small and I was going to need to take a taxi up to the Airbnb. I couldn’t find the taxi stand so I wandered around for a bit before noticing a small sign with a number to call.
My taxi arrived shortly afterwards and it was a Tesla. The ride was 6 minutes up and cost £25 so it was safe to say that I’d be walking everywhere for the rest of the trip when I didn’t have all of my stuff.
The Airbnb was perfect and had an incredible view of Monte Carlo. I decided to watch the movie Monte Carlo and then logged on to work for the evening. I would start exploring the following day.
Before going to sleep, I watched the sun rise and it was absolutely beautiful. The Airbnb had automatic shades and blackout curtains so I was able to fall asleep shortly afterwards.
