I set my alarm for 2pm because I planned to visit Nocelle, the town that’s a bit higher up in the mountains. There are two ways to get there: walking up 1700 steps or taking the bus. I opted for the bus, figuring I could take the stairs down instead. There’s also a hiking trail called Path of the Gods that I planned to explore a bit.
I wanted to make sure that there was still light outside when I arrived so I got ready as soon as I woke up. I grabbed a quick bite to eat and saw that the bus would be another 45 minutes, so I decided to take some photos outside on the balcony.
After my photoshoot, I headed down to the bus stop and my plans changed. The first bus said that they were no longer accepting passengers, so I waited an hour for the next one. The weather was nice so I didn’t mind. When the second bus came, it sounded like the driver asked if I was going to Nocelle. I soon found out that he had asked something different and ended up back at the beach instead. A slight shift in plans, but it was getting late so I figured I’d watch the sunset.
This trip is not about stressing over the small things and I had another day in Positano, so no big deal. Everything doesn’t need to go exactly according to plan. And I’m glad that I ended up at the beach because the sunset was absolutely beautiful. It was unreal.
Once the sun had set, I stopped by the Positano Paradise Beach Bar and grabbed a slice of pizza. This time, I was not going to walk back up 65 floors. I took the bus to the top of Positano and stopped at Bar Internazionale for another cookie. Then I headed up the few flights of stairs to my apartment and took a nap.
I woke up right before work started, watched the 49ers beat the Cowboys, and then went to sleep. I decided to set my alarm even earlier for the next morning, determined to visit Nocelle on my last full day in Positano.
